Ten Years of Sovereign Systems
On February 16, 2016, Sovereign Systems officially became a company.
At the time, I didn’t have a grand vision for what the next ten years would look like, but I knew there was a better way to help businesses use software.
Ten years later, I’m grateful for how far we’ve come.
Sovereign Systems was built on the idea that software should serve the business, not the other way around. Over the years, we’ve worked with organizations across healthcare, manufacturing, retail, non-profit, transportation, and more. While the industries have differed, the problems have often been the same: systems that don’t quite fit, processes that rely too heavily on manual work, and businesses stuck supporting tools that were never designed to scale. Our goal has always been to step in, listen first, and build solutions that actually make day-to-day work easier.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the team we’ve built. Sovereign Systems wouldn’t exist without the people who show up every day to solve difficult problems thoughtfully and collaboratively. We’ve grown carefully over the years, bringing on people who value clear communication, strong fundamentals, and doing the right thing for our clients—it’s something I don’t take lightly.
To our clients and partners: thank you for trusting us. Many of you have invited us into critical parts of your business, and that trust is never something we take for granted.
After more than three decades in the software industry—and ten years as a business owner—I can say this with confidence: good software is rarely about flashy features. It’s about understanding people, processes, and long-term needs. That belief guided Sovereign Systems in 2016, and it will continue to guide us in the years ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. I’m excited for what’s next.
