Employee Spotlight: Jessica Gehman

At Sovereign Systems, we’re proud to highlight the talented individuals who keep our projects moving forward. This month, we’re excited to introduce you to Jessica Gehman, our Project Manager.

Jessica joined Sovereign Systems in June 2025 and has already made a meaningful impact by getting projects organized and aligning client expectations with deliverables. Originally from East Texas and now based in Lincoln, Nebraska, Jessica brings a wealth of experience in communications, marketing operations, and project coordination to her new role in software development.

Growing Into Project Management

Jessica didn’t originally set out to work in software or project management. After graduating from LeTourneau University in 2020 with a degree in Communications – Integrated Media Management, she began working in roles that supported marketing teams. Over time, she found herself naturally drawn to project coordination and process improvement.

Before joining Sovereign Systems, Jessica worked at Grace Management, Inc. as a Marketing and Communications Specialist, leading cross-functional campaigns and overseeing communications for acquisitions and crisis response. Prior to that, she served as a Social Media Coordinator at Transformation Marketing, where she honed her organizational skills by managing multiple client campaigns.

Why We Value Jessica

Jessica’s strength lies in bridging the gap between technical teams and clients. She ensures requirements are clearly defined, expectations are realistic, and timelines are met. As she puts it, her expertise is “in communication, planning, and process improvement”—all critical to keeping development projects on track.

Life Outside of Work

When she’s not coordinating projects, Jessica loves spending time with her husband, son, and their cat, Peanut Butter. She’s an avid reader (averaging over 100 books a year) and enjoys crocheting as a creative outlet. She’s also deeply involved in her church, where she leads the media team, coordinates social media, edits photos and videos, and mentors others as a discipleship group leader.
